It may be hard to follow-up some of the great events that were held over Canada Day long weekend, but between the Cabbagetown BIA workshops, festivals, and the Riverdale Farm Fundraiser, July looks pretty promising:
Cabbagetown BIA Workshops
Club Ovahi
Thursday, July 11th, from 2-4pm, visit the Cabbagetown BIA Office for this valuable workshop concerning Club Ovahi, a mobile app for local businesses to manage and distribute their loyalty programs and promotions. If you wish to attend, please RSVP cabbagetownbia@gmail.com.
Employment Services for Business Owners
Fred Victor is an employment centre dedicated to assisting business owners on the hunt for the perfect employee. By offering a free thorough screening process for all applicants, Fred Victor helps businesses fill positions easily and with the greatest potential. If you wish to learn more about this incredible service, meet other local business owners at the Cabbagetown BIA Office on Thursday, July 25th at 2pm. Please send an email to cabbagetownbia@gmail.com if you plan on attending the workshop.
Cabbagetown Festival of the Arts
The last chance to purchase Early Bird tickets has passed, but this does not mean that you are too late to attend! Currently, the Cabbagetown BIA is seeking talented artists from the neighbourhood to participate in this year’s Festival of the Arts on September 7th and 8th. For local, corporate, and non-profit vendors interested in setting-up booths at this event, please visit http://www.oldcabbagetown.com/content/2013-cabbagetown-festival for registration details.
Riverdale Farm’s “Oasis in the City”
Riverdale Farm’s Mid-Summer Mixer is in need of volunteers. If you are over the age of 18 and wish to partake in this $25K fundraiser, please contact Anne Pastuszak, the volunteer coordinator for this event. In total, Riverdale Farm needs 80 able-bodied volunteers — so show your support and lend a hand.
“Oasis in the City” will be held on July 18th, 2013 from 5:30 to 9:30pm. Tickets are on sale today: $30 per adult, $5 per child. There will be food and beverages available for purchase, as well as a captivating performance by Canadian indie-rocker Amy Millan, who is also a former Cabbagetown resident.
Seaton House Redevelopment
Tonight, the Executive Committee will review the staff report during the first-round of consultations concerning the redevelopment of the Seaton House. If the report is adopted — a full copy is available at http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/viewAgendaItemHistory.do?item=2013.EX33.17 — it will be presented to the City Council on July 16th. Be sure to stay-tuned for further updates.
