Annual General Meeting – Cabbagetown South

Annual General Meeting Ontario Restaurant, Dundas Street between Ontario and Milan
Date: 09 Jan 2013 7:30 PM

Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given of the 2013 Cabbagetown South Association Membership Meeting (also known as the Annual General Meeting), in compliance with our bylaw. (7.1. Notice of a membership meeting shall be given to members in good standing at least ten (10) days in advance of the meeting.)

On Wednesday January 9, 2013, at 7:30 pm, a public meeting of the Cabbagetown South Association will be called to order. It will adjourn almost immediately and the 2013 Cabbagetown South Annual General Meeting will commence.

The primary purpose of the meeting is to elect the Board of Directors for 2013.

The minutes for the 2012 AGM are posted in the members-only section of the site.

Who Can Vote

Any voting member may run for Board election and may vote at the AGM as long as he/she has been a member in good standing for at least 28 days prior to Jan. 9, 2013, (i.e. Dec. 13, 2012) OR, if he/she has been a member in good standing during 2012 as well as currently. (Thus, if your membership lapsed in 2012, you may renew it and pay your dues on or before Jan.9, including just prior to the AGM. You will then be able to vote as well as stand for election.)

We would like to encourage voting members to consider joining the Board of Directors for 2013. The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall planning and direction of the organization, and for overseeing the organization’s financial status. Board members are required to attend the majority of Board meetings. The 2013 Board will serve a full calendar year, which could necessitate 7 to 10 meetings in total. If you are interested in participating on the Board for the 2013 year, please contact us at info@cabbagetownsouth.ca to let us know.

Please remember, you do not have to be a Board member in order to help make this organization a success. If you would like to be involved in the organization but prefer to keep a lower profile, consider helping out with our activities. These include building membership, web development and planning and running events. In addition , we have a number of special committees dealing with particular issues such as laneways, dumping and slum landlords. Let us know if you are interested in any of these endeavours.

Best regards,
Cabbagetown South Residents’ Association
