Kicking-Off June with Great Cabbagetown Events

There are only a few more weeks until summer. Until then, there are a few things going on in our community to pass the time. Here’s a list of Cabbagetown events and sales you won’t want to miss:

The 8th Annual InspiraTO Festival

This year’s InspiraTO Festival will consist of 28 ten-minute plays, performed in four differently colour-coded groups:

  • The Red Show – All plays begin with the line “I see a rabbit”
  • The Blue Show – One character leaves home
  • The Orange Show – The play’s setting is a tunnel
  • The Yellow Show – Rope is used as a primary prop

Following these four groups, an additional set of plays will be held. The “White Show” will be performed off-site at a location audience members must find. Tickets are on sale now, and performances will take place until this Saturday at the Alumnae Theatre.

A Word from St. Peters:

“Welcome summer – it’s finally here and we at St. Peter’s are pleased to be moving forward into the season in celebration of our 150th Anniversary. We have a lot to celebrate and a lot of new ministry happening in our church. We have welcomed 7 new folks into the family of God through baptism so far this year, and we celebrate their faith. We are enjoying new music from sources other than the piano & organ, as well as a Youth Choir that is practising hard for their first participation in a service.

On June 16th we at St Peter’s are going to be celebrating our Aboriginal brothers & sisters in faith. Our service will include readings, hymns, prayers & a sermon to especially mark this day. We also have a special Aboriginal guest who will hold a service after our main worship service for all who are interested in experiencing her spirituality. Come and celebrate this special day with us.

June 23rd we will be marking our Anniversary by having Archbishop Colin Johnson come and celebrate in worship with us. The service will be followed by a luncheon so come and join us. We welcome past members, and friends as well as anyone interested in coming to help us celebrate this milestone at our 10:30am worship service.

The Holy Spirit is alive and moving here at St Peter’s, come and join us and catch the feeling along with us as we celebrate our faith together.
